The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie came out in November of ’04. This movie was made to entertain young children. SpongeBob SquarePants got nine nominations and won one award for ASCAP Film and Television Music Awards in ’05.
In this movie SpongeBob SquarePants steps up and leaves Bikini Bottom with his best friend Patrick Star to go find King Neptune’s crown. While SpongeBob and Patrick are gone evil Plankton takes over the town. Plankton put this metal bucket on everyone’s head. He took control of them all. Soon to destroy Bikini Bottom and get the Krabby Patty formula from Mr. Krabs, who Plankton froze. SpongeBob and Patrick face a lot of difficulties through their travels to get the crown back. Almost giving up, but they are MEN! They made it back safely thanks to David Hasselhoff. Once they are back everything starts to fall back to how it’s supposed to be.
Even though this is a kids movie and I’m 17, I love it. This movie has a lesson, yes even though it is SpongeBob. But I’ve learned to not give up when things are hard. Just like SpongeBob and Patrick I haven’t gave up on my goals. I push through the hard times, the difficulties and the struggles. My favorite part in this movie is when SpongeBob and Patrick have to cross the deep dark abyss singing “Now That We’re Men” song with the Monsters. In that scene they are scared to go down there, but right before they go Mindy (King Neptune’s daughter) shows up and gives them both a seaweed mustache. They both believe they are men, but they’re both the same as they were before the mustaches. But they overcome their fears to the abyss and along the way sing a catchy tune with some not so scary monsters.
There will be a new SpongeBob movie coming out in 2015. I am so excited to watch it as soon as it comes out. This new movie is about SpongeBob going on a quest to discover a stolen recipe that takes him to our dimension. As soon as the movie comes out I’m pretty sure I will write a review on that also.
