Last week, Student Council put on Homecoming events, including a football game, Spirit Days, a parade, hog roast, and a dance.

Spirit Days lasted for a week, going from Sept. 24 through 28. The football game, parade, and hog roast were all on Sept. 28. The dance was on Sept. 29, lasting from 8:00 to 11:00 p.m. The game, hog roast, dance, and Spirit Days were all at Ovid-Elsie High School, and the parade was in Elsie.

All of these events occurred because of a collective effort by the Student Council. They worked in the mornings and nights before and after each of these events to make sure that everything got done.

These events were put on because Student Council wanted all of the students, teachers, and parents to have high spirits for this week.

Student Council member Brandon Grieder, we said he believed the events were well attended, “If I was to guess, easily over a thousand.”

Student Council estimated putting on these events brought in about 400 people more than attend the school daily, which, in their minds, accomplished their main goal of Homecoming: to bring spirit to Ovid-Elsie High School.
