Student Challenge talked about how God helps us through tough times last week. Student Challenge takes place in the wood shop room, also known as C-14. It is weekly on Thursdays, starting at 7:15 a.m. and lasting until 7:50 a.m.
Retired wood shop Teacher Everett Smith is in charge of Student Challenge and has the help of Abigail Hills, Abby Cooper, Jonathan Kirby, Conner Brown, and Claire Wiktorowski from the middle school helping as the core students of Student Challenge. The core students create lessons for the middle school Student Challenge and teach them while Everett Smith teaches high school most weeks. There are between 20 and 40 attendees a week. Breakfast is served and all are welcome.
The lesson taught Feb. 21 used John 14, Matthew 5: 43-48, Luke 23: 34 and Matthew 11: 25-30 to help the students understand that even though we stumble in our faith and go through tough times, God helps you through it. Also, you can put your burdens on him and he will bless you. This lesson is being taught to impact all students and staff, and is being taught because in life everyone has troubles and burdens and when you get help from God it makes it better for you.
