Knives Out is a 2019 film starring many popular actors. A new murder mystery film, the plot and acting makes it a great movie.

Famous crime writer Harlan Thrombey is found dead in his own home. The local police wrote the death off as a suicide, but a famous detective, Benoit Blanc, was hired by an anonymous person to find the truth. The police and Blanc investigate the Thrombey mansion for evidence and talk to the members of the family.

Chris Evans plays his character, Ransom Drysdale, extremely well. Ransom is cocky, rude, and suspicious. Evans does a great job of expressing his personality. Even in the film when Ransom is trying to seem like the good guy but is actually hiding something, Evans’ performance was convincing and full of talent. More popular actors in Knives Out include Jamie Lee Curtis, Toni Collette, Jaeden Martell, Daniel Craig, and Lakeith Stanfield.

Director Rian Johnson does a great job of making a great murder mystery film without copycatting past films. When the true death of Harlan was revealed early in the movie, I was wondering how the rest of the movie would play out- but the film kept the suspense. The impressive cast made the movie all the more great.

I would rate this film 4.5 stars out of 5. Knives Out is a great murder mystery film without copying other popular films in its category. The film got a 97% on the Tomatometer. I would definitely recommend this film to any mystery fan.
