Varsity Girls Basketball Suffers Loss to Dansville

Austin Darling, Staff writer

The Ovid-Elsie Girls Varsity Basketball team faced off away against Dansville in what would be
a 33-42 loss. This is the second game of the girl’s season and would feature a rough first-half
performance. However, the Marauders would enter a hot streak in the second half and bring the
game back to a close competition before fouls would increase the difference.
Leading the Marauders would be junior Ava Bates. Bates would score 13 points and 7 boards
before the game was over. Following bates, Junior Evalyn Cole would score 9 points.
Additionally, senior Kiah Longoria would score 7 points.
As the season continues, the lady Marauders steadily get better. With an away game against
Montrose at 5:30 pm Friday, December 8th, Ovid-Elsie plans to turn their season around. A
victory over the Rams would rebound this team and set them on track to their former glory.
