Goodfellas is a mob film following the life of Henry Hills’ rise in the mafia and his ultimate downfall.The film is one of the best gangster movies ever and is an iconic film, and for a good reason. The story is told a lot through narration which gives it the feel of a documentary and heightens the events throughout the film making it a narrative masterpiece. The film has so many iconic scenes and is supported with its beautiful shots of excellence. The use of music in the film also helps to tell the story also. As Henry grows up and goes through the different decades through the 1950s-80s which is complimented by the different use of songs from the time periods. The cast of the film has great performances from Ray Liotta, Joe Pesci, and Robert De Niro. Their acting really hits hard and is iconic. The movie has a 96% on Rotten Tomatoes and an audience score of 97%. Goodfellas is a must-see for anyone. It’s not only one of the best gangster movies and one of Scorsese’s best films but also one of the best films of all time. 10/10
