The Ovid-Elsie Marauders fell 52-43 to the #9 ranked Goodrich Martians. This drops Ovid-Elsie
to 16-4 for the season and 12-0 in it’s league. Even with this loss, the Lady Marauders are still
ranked first in the Mid-Michigan Area.
The MaxPreps Basketball Player of the Game for this matchup was Ava Bates who dropped 17
points on the night. Assisting Bates was Evalyn Cole with 12 points and Braeden Tokar with 7.
Good performances by these players is unsurprising as these three largely command this girls
varsity team.
Unfortunately, due to illness at the school and hazardous road conditions, OE’s next matchup is
against the Chesaning Indians. It is unclear as to when this matchup will be, but rumors point
towards Tuesday, February 21st, or Wednesday, February 22. With a win over Chesaning,
Ovid-Elsie will become Conference Champions.
