Anyone that missed the wrestling meeting this morning, please see Mr. Bowen sometime today to get the information missed.

The junior and senior boys will have their first volleyball practice today from 5:30 – 7:00 with the seniors in the main gym and the juniors in the aux gym.

The girls’ J.V. basketball team is looking for a team manager. It includes attending all J.V. games and a few practices for a small wage. Please e-mail Coach Stoneman at [email protected] if interested.

Attention All Football Players: The Football Banquet is this Thursday, November 6th at 6:30 pm in the High School Cafeteria. If you have any questions see Coach Long.

The Cross Country banquet will be this Wednesday at 6:30pm.

Attention any boys interested in playing basketball this winter: There will be a meeting on this Thursday, November 6th at 11:10am in the Community Room. Please plan to attend to receive important information and dates on the upcoming season. If you have questions contact Coach Latz in the Middle School.

The FFA poultry contest is on thursday this week. If you have birds going to the contest, you MUST have a written report to attend the contest. Please stop in and see Ms. Hoffman if you need help with your report. Also, permission slips are available in the classroom.

The FFA is going to Roll Haven on November 10th. We are leaving the school at 5:00 PM and will arrive back at 9:30 PM. The cost of the trip is $12. That covers pizza, pop, roller skating, laser tag and the bus. Stop down and get a permission slip from Ms. Hoffman.

Seniors, Josten’s will be here in the community room this Thursday, November 6th during both lunches for you to turn in your order forms. If you plan on walking at graduation, you need a cap and gown. Please get those ordered on Thursday. Any questions, stop and see Mrs. Horak in Student Services.

Central Driving School will be offering a 3-day Segment II driver education class starting Monday, November 17 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. For more information please call 517-862-1700.

The annual boy’s volleyball games are set to be played Friday, November 14th with the freshman playing the juniors and the sophmores playing the seniors. The losers and winners of those games will also play each other. Practice times are yet to be determined. Stay tuned to the announcements for further details. Remember volleyball athletes, you are coaching them.

The fall blood drive will take place on Monday, Nov. 17th. Please see Grace Samson if you would like to sign up to donate. Or, you could also stop by Mrs. Laurencelle’s room during 4th hour or 1st lunch if you would like to sign up then. Students must be 17 years old and weigh 110 pounds in order to donate. Also, if you have had a tattoo within the past year you are not eligible to donate. The state of MI allows students that are 16 years old to donate blood with signed consent from a parent. These forms are available to pick up from Mrs. Laurencelle at anytime. These students will be able to sign up only after this signed form has been returned to Mrs. Laurencelle

The Business Dept students are selling Marauder keychains for $1 each. There are two different styles to choose from, get yours today! Also, they are selling Marauder navy blue drawstring bags for $3 each. Supplies are limited, so stop in to room S-18 and get yours today! Examples of these can be seen in the showcase in the south hall.

The Ovid-Elsie girls cross country had a presence at the Division 3 State Meet at Michigan International Speedway Saturday November 1st in Senior Alex Love. Ms. Love competed in a field of 246 runners representing schools throughout Lower Michigan in the biggest race of the year.

Alex finished her outstanding career off with finishing 13th overall with a 19:08.1 on the 3.1 mile course becoming the second fastest girl on the state meet course at MIS. This year has seen her earn All-League and All-Conference honors in the Tri-Valley Conference, become the Shiawassee County Champion, First team honors at the Spartan Invitational, Don Baese Invitational, and the Greater Lansing Cross Country Championships. Alex also earned the Ovid-Elsie school record on her home course with a 19:02.7 making her the fastest girl in OE history. She has earned a lot of honors for a well deserving person.

The varsity volleyball team won the opening district game last night by defeating Flint Southwestern. 25-16, 25-11, 25-6. Logan Trefil led the way with 3 aces, 14 assists and 14 digs. Megan Black chipped in with 8 kills and 4 blocks. Hannah Dennis and Danielle Martin each had 3 aces and Lacey Micka picked up 12 digs. They move on Wednesday to play Goodrich at Lake Fenton at 7 p.m.
