Snowfest

It’s winter now and that means one thing, snow. For children snow means hours of endless fun, and upon coming inside, hot chocolate. For teens, it means that there is a chance for a snow day, a much needed break from school. For a select few students here, it is Snowfest, the annual ice carving.

Kaila Smith, a freshman, joined the snow sculpting team this year. “I went to see the sculptures last year, and I instantly fell in love with the idea of joining the team as soon as I could. My favorite part was meeting new people and I really liked creating a beautiful piece of art out of an ugly block of ice. I’m going to apply next year too, and I’m looking forward to it.”

Year and year again, people of all ages love spending time outdoors and enjoying what Mother Nature has to offer. The snow sculpting team takes advantage of their artistic abilities during the cold seasons to create remarkable pieces of art.
