Cross country states were this past weekend at Jackson, Michigan, on Nov. 3rd. Running in the state meet was Senior Weston Kvalevog and Junior Emme Koutz. Both were captains of the cross country teams this past fall season and both ran well enough to place in the top 15 in regionals to make it to the state meet as individuals.

At the MHSAA State Cross Country meet on Saturday, Nov. 3rd, Koutz ran a 20:44 and came in 69th place, and Kvalevog ran a 17:26 and came in 78th place.

Koutz said, ”I’m happy with how I did at the state meet this past weekend, I worked hard to get there and it paid off.”

Kvalevog finished his last season of high school cross country with the state meet, but Koutz still has one more year to work towards states.
