Curse of La Llorona Gets Low Ratings

The Curse of La Llorona is set in Los Angeles in the 1970’s, in which the ghost La Llorona lurks at night, targeting children specifically. Actors and actresses such as Marisol Ramirez, Linda Cardellini, Raymond Cruz, and Tony Amendolla graced the screen in the coming of age film. Sandy Schaefer of Screen Rant says, “Despite a lack of originality and substance, The Curse of La Llorona makes for an entertaining funhouse ride of a movie set in The Conjuring universe.” Many audience members have also commented on how the movie felt like a repeat, and that it was boring at many points in time. Currently, Rotten Tomatoes has it rated at 30%, while 49% of the audience enjoyed it. The film has grossed $8.2M, and was directed by Michael Chaves.
