Monday, Nov 2nd, Ovid-Elsie’s girls varsity volleyball team travelled to Belding High School for Districts against Ionia.
Ovid-Elsie started with the lead in the 1st set but Ionia battled back and came out on top for the set, 16-25. Again Ovid-Elsie had the starting lead but could not hold on to that lead in the 2nd set losing 17-25. Ovid-Elsie started to lose their energy in the third set giving Ionia the last and final set, 12-25.
Rylee Lewis, a back row player for the team said,” I think we did really good at the beginning but then we started making little mistakes and started to lose our energy.” Ovid-Elsie played hard but just could not get the win. They ended their season with a record of 1-6.
