Mortal Kombat Lives Up To Game Intensity

Mortal Kombat Lives Up To Game Intensity

Mortal Kombat, the shimmering hope for the fans of the series. Yet it had a lot of shoes to fill, and a lot of hatchets to bury. Following the success of MK 11, another sequel in the video gaming saga, Paul W.S. Anderson was given a job to direct a movie that was supposed to be better than its counterparts such as Mortal Kombat (1995) and Mortal Kombat: Annihilation (1997). Yet it was still supposed to be on point and as action packed as the games. They did this by rewriting the story as an ancient tournament where it’s contestants are chosen with a dragon birthmark on their bodies. And so we follow a young man who has been called upon to fight in this tournament in order to save the world. Released in 2021 and with the leading role played by Lewis Tan, and main antagonist played by Joe Taslim, this movie got an audience score of 86% on Rotten Tomatoes and a 8/10 in my book.
