The Ovid-Elsie Girls varsity basketball team played on their home court vs. New Lothrop on Friday Jan. 7th beating the Hornets and improving to 4-0 in the MMAC. The game started out a little shaky. Coach Dr. Ryan Cunningham said, “The first half we were trying to figure things out a little bit and still playing a little too fast on the offensive end…” After half time, the Marauders brought everything together and went on a 24-2 third quarter run and led by as much as 36 points. Caitlyn Walter led the team with 14 points and 3 steals, Kiah Longoria grabbed 10 points, 9 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2 steals to defeat New Lothrop 56-22. Ovid-Elsie’s next game will be at Lakeville on Friday, Jan. 14.
