The JV Lady Marauders finished out their season with three games this week against Oakland Christian, Goodrich, and New Lothrop. The Marauders did well against Oakland Christian on Monday, Feb. 21, and came out with a win 23-16. Ellyanna Carman led OE with 9 points and Aubrey Kurka was just behind with 7. On Tuesday, Feb. 22, the girls traveled to Goodrich “Tuesday was a disappointing turnout” Coach Brandon Belill says, “But I thought we finished out strong and recovered well” The Lady Marauders lost to Goodrich 34-18. Maddie Thornton led the way with 6 points and 6 rebounds. Thursday, Feb. 24, Ovid-Elsie hosted New Lothrop for the last game of the season. They finished out strong and ended on a high note for the end of the season. The Marauders beat the Hornets 39-13 which finishes their season 15-4 (11-0 MMAC). Aubrey Kurka led the night with 8 points and Ellyanna Carman had 7 points. “Seeing the 11 freshmen that we have, we have a lot of potential to grow again.” Coach Bellil said, going into next year he is excited to see what is to come in the next few years.
