Dune: Part Two was released on March 1st, 2024, and was directed by Denis Villeneuve. The movie had a budget of 190 million and so far made 82.5 million at the box office. The movie has recently been released but it is showing signs it might make a profit.
Dune: Part Two takes place after the first movie as the title says. This movie explores the mythic journey of Paul as he unites with Chani. While reuniting they follow a warpath of revenge against those who ruined his family. He eventually faces the choice of picking between the love of his life and the unknown universe. Dune: Part Two did well on release, having a 93% on the Tomatometer and a 95% on the audience score. Many of the reviews are positive saying the movie is really good. One review says the movie perfectly blends the visuals and cinematography, they gave the movie a 3/4. Another person gave it an 8/10 saying it works great and even serves as a good conclusion. Some still don’t like it however with one person giving it a 2.5/5 saying it fell flat and had no surprises. Overall, mostly good reviews.
All in all, I liked this movie. I wasn’t a big fan of the first one but I managed to sit down and watch this one in theaters. It had great visuals and honestly had a good story that I could follow. I honestly liked it enough to go back and watch the first one again. I would highly recommend this movie to anyone who wants to have a good movie to watch but also recommend watching the first one beforehand.
