Machine Gun Kelly, also known as MGK, released his fifth studio album Tickets to My Downfall
on Sept. 25, 2020. This punk-rock album showcases collaborations with prominent artists
such as Trippie Redd, Halsey, and Blackbear, adding depth and diversity to the music.
I remember this album being quite popular in the media a few years back, but I personally never
quite understood the hype surrounding it. To me, all the songs seemed to blend. The frequent
themes of drug use, addiction, fighting, and heartbreak seemed to dominate the album, making
it difficult for me to connect with the music on a deeper level.
I’m not a fan of the songs My Ex’s Best Friend, Forget Me Too, and the title track. These songs
don’t capture my attention. In my view, MGK’s singing and songwriting suck.
In conclusion, do not waste your time on this horrific album. In my opinion, MGK should
consider enhancing the quality of his work. I would rate the album 2/10.
