Ukraine began invading Russian territory on August 6th across its northern border with Russia into the Russian Kursk region. After more than two years of war this offensive may have proven that Ukraine is still capable of winning.
According to USA Today, It is important for Ukraine to maintain Unity in the west and support. Russia has been advancing and holding a position in the Donbas region of Eastern Ukraine. The goal of Ukraine at the moment is to stop the advance and cause as much negative for Russia as possible. They are attempting to do this by getting extra supplies from the west and deploying more people to the east. Ukraine is currently invading Russian territory that way Russia has to redirect their forces so Ukraine can defend better.
All in all, Ukraine began the biggest invasion of Russia since World War two so they have a better chance of defending Russia’s current advances.
