The start to the 2024-25 NBA regular season is less than two months away with the defending champion Boston Celtics hosting the New York Knicks on opening night on Oct 22. But it is never too early to look ahead to the storylines that will dominate the 2025 offseason.
That includes the future of a superstar like LeBron James, the historic Supermax deal awaiting Luka Doncic and which teams are best equipped to draft a potential future superstar in Duke forward Cooper Flagg. With the NBA Finals and draft complete, the league’s top decision-makers continue to make key additions through the free agency.
The free agency window opened on June 30, and teams and players are making moves in what has already been an impactful summer of deals and contract extensions. Stars such as Klay Thompson and Paul George are on the move to new teams (the Dallas Mavericks and Philadelphia 76ers, respectively) while James Harden agreed to a deal to return to the LA Clippers.
