Disturbed is a 4 man group that started in 1994. The main vocalist is David Draiman, bassist is
John Moyer, guitarist/keyboardist is Dan Donegan, and drummer Mike Wengren. The Album
Immortalized released on Aug. 21st 2015. The 3 top songs are the sound of silence, The
vengeful one, and the light.
The Sound of Silence is the most popular song in the album with over 1 billion listens. It is a
remix of the sound of silence by Simon & Garfunkel. Starts out in silence, but then a piano starts
playing along with David Draiman starting to sing with it. The song is very slow compared to
other albums and songs produced by Disturbed . It’s a calming song with no loud heavy
screaming or anything. It’s just a nice song consisting of vocals, piano, and a synth. All in all a
very enjoyable song to listen to and very calming.
The next most popular song in this album is The vengeful one with 136 million listens. which is
completely different from the sound of silence. It is way more aggressive right at the start and
throughout the song. Every now and then it gets quieter with just calm vocals going but then
every instrument starts playing for the chorus. Overall a very enjoyable song.
The Third most popular song in the album is the light with 97 million listens, which is different
from both of the previous songs. The light is more aggressive with the instruments but no where
near the aggression in the vengeful one. It’s more of an inspirational song trying to give you the
confidence to keep going talking about how the “darkness can show you the light” overall just
trying to be a “pick me up” song. Consistently playing all the instruments around the same note
until it hits the chorus where it gets higher like it’s “picking you up.” Overall, a pretty good song,
not as good as the previous one’s in my opinion though.
Compared to the other albums it is pretty similar to them in the long run with an exception for a
few of the songs like the sound of silence and the light where they aren’t aggressive and are
either calmer or more inspirational than their previous songs.
In my opinion this album is a solid 8.5/10 there is a lot of good songs in here that I would listen
to again if I’m not by myself because I tend to stick to a genre that not a lot of people like so if I
want to please the crowd around me and myself then this is probably a go to album for me.
