Beetlejuice Beetlejuice is a dark fantasy comedy horror film directed by Tim Burton. This is a sequel to Beetlejuice, returning Michael Keaton, Winona Ryder, and Cathrine O’hara along with new cast members, Jenna Ortega, Willam Dafoe, and Justin Theroux. Jenna Ortega plays Astrid Deetz, Winona Ryder plays Lydia Deetz, Micheal Keaton plays Beetlejuice, Cathrine O’Hara plays Delia Deetz. This movie is set more than three decades after the first Beetlejuice, it follows Lydia Deetz struggling to keep her family together after a loss as Beetlejuice comes to haunt her. It opened the 81st Venice International Film Festival on August 28th 2024, but was theoretically released overseas on September 4th. The running time is 104 minutes. The Rotten Tomatoes rating is 77%, and a critic Stephen Romel says, “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice shines with Burton’s striking visual style and dry wit.” In my opinion, this is a very good movie and is easy to follow along with even if you haven’t watched the first Beetlejuice. It is nice that they have some of the same characters.
