Byron Eagles beat Ovid-Elsie Marauders with a score of 3-1 in a nail-biting volleyball game at the Marauders home court. The Marauders went into this game with high hopes and all the energy they could get, however it wasn’t enough to stop the Eagles from raining on the Marauders parade.
The first set started like no other, a good amount of high energy and jam packed passes back and fourth. The marauders lead with the score of 14-9 thinking that the game would be an easy match up. However, that shortly changed after the Eagles kept scoring more and more points. The Eagles energy affected the Marauders super quickly which made the Eagles gain that win for set 1.
The second set was back-to-back yelling, gaining points, stakes were high, and coaches were on their toes. The score was 24-23 with the Marauders leading, K.Ehle was serving the ball for the Marauders. With nice back and fourth passes from the Eagles and Marauders, K.Ehle set A.Ehle up for a hit and as soon as she went up for a hit she smoked the ball against the hard gym floor. Gaining the win for that game for the Marauders.
The third and final set was nerve racking for both Marauders and the Eagles. It was high intense energy with all the parents cheering, the Marauder student section screaming, and coaches yelling. K.Ehle set up T.Kvalevog for a hit in the middle and was blocked by the other team!! The ball was super close to hitting the ground before I.Ryal came in for a dive pass from back row. After the pass by I.Ryal the Eagles set up a hit for the outside hitter and the Eagles ball SMACKED the ground on Marauders side. Leaving the Eagles with a win and Marauders with a loss.
