Stillwell had gone to meet up with his Grindr date, Robert Tweedly, but he did not return home afterward.
Stillwell, was a middle school janitor, loved genealogy, photography, and his coworkers.
Tweedly allegedly strangled Stillwell to death in his basement. It is alleged, he then left to get rope, an axe, bags and disinfectant at Walmart.
He used these items to allegedly dismember Stillwell’s body and throw a bag with his arms and legs into the Saginaw River.
His head and torso were found in a nature preserve. Tweedly was arraigned Sept. 27 on charges of murder and mutilating
a body. Police used DNA evidence from the remains to identify the victim and obtain his address.
