Dj Diesel(Shaquille O’Neal)’s album Gorilla Warfare mainly features dubstep with the biggest
hits in it being three collaborations with Crankdat, Hairitage, and Jessica Audiffred. Which came
out on Aug. 18th 2023. The three main songs are Bang Your Head, No Fear, and Heat which
are all a mix of Shaq’s faster paced music with the collab artist’s styles.
The most popular one of the three is Bang Your Head which is a collaboration with Hairitage
and has 281k listens, it is very heavy and robotic sounding. It is very bouncy which is probably
why it has the name Bang Your Head because the most common “dance” to it is head banging.
It is 3 and half minutes long and surprisingly is a semi slower pace song compared to the rest of
the songs in the album.
The next most popular song is No Fear is another collaboration with Jessica Audiffred and has
162k listens. It is a very fast paced song and is somewhat like hyperpop mixed with dubstep, or
house music. It is a lot higher pitched like hyperpop but has a similar beat to house music. It is 3
minutes long and probably the fastest paced song of the three.
The least popular of the three is Heat which is a collaboration with Crankdat and has 136k
listens. This song definitely leans towards Crankdat’s creepy sounding music with a slower BPM
but with short bursts of base making it sound like a fast song. It is definitely a dubstep song that
is very robotic and has a creepy vibe like you are creeping somewhere. It is 3 minutes and 15
seconds long and is in the middle in terms of sounding fast pace but is probably the slowest
BPM of the three.
I would rate this album a solid 7/10 because it’s not very unique but is still really good. Another
reason i don’t rate it higher is because the best songs are all collaborations with other artists
which is going back to why i think it’s not that unique.
