ANTI-ICON is an album full of songs that are mixed in terms of genres, majority are a mix of rap,
heavy metal, and a little edm. The three most popular songs are Fed Up, AI, and LAZARETTO.
The artist is Ghostmane(Eric Whitney) and was released oct.21st of 2020.
The most popular of the three is Fed Up with 96 million listens. It has a creepy vibe to it and is
very slow and leans more towards the edm and rap genres instead of heavy metal. It is a very
slow song consisting of drums, vocals, some sort of string instrument and bass. While the BPM
is slow the lyrics are faster at times. As someone who likes bass I like this song and would
individually rate it around a 8/10
The second most popular song is AI with 29 million listens. It also has a creepy vibe to it which
in this album is a common thing. Once again it leans towards the rap and edm genres. It is a
faster song compared to the previous song, but still has slower parts, it consists of vocals,
drums, guitar, EFX, and bass. In terms of vocals the only word I can use to describe it would be
crazy, not in the sense that they’re good but in the sense of random screaming every now and
then. Even though I like bass the lyrics are a little weird so I would give it an individual rating of
6/10.
The least popular of the three is LAZARETTO with 10 million listens. Now this song leans a lot
more towards the heavy metal genre and EDM. it has a BPM somewhere in the middle it’s not
slow but I wouldn’t call it fast either. Once again it has a creepy vibe, and consists of guitar,
drums, vocals, EFX, and bass. This song is definitely a heavy song not just from the bass you
would hear normally in EDM and rap, but because it has a really heavy guitar and very heavy
kick drums. I would give this song a individual rating of 8/10
All together this is a pretty good album and I think there are songs in this album that should be
more popular than they are and over all it’s a very heavy album with a good mixing of genres in
every song and I would give the album as a whole a solid 7.8/10 because I like the creepy vibe
in the majority of the songs and the heaviness of every song.
