No.4 Ohio played No.3 Penn state in a battle on Nov 2. The game was close till an iffy taunting call on Penn State cornerback Elliot Washington II. This then gave No. 4 Ohio State a free first down and, subsequently, the lead in the Buckeyes’ win on Saturday.
Elliot Washington tackled Ohio State wide receiver Carnell Tate on third down. Tate was very short of the first down. This was going to force Ohio to punt the ball away, however, Washington was flagged for taunting because he looked down and stepped over Tate as he was getting up.
This set up Ohio State later when Will Howard hit Brandon Inniss for a 21-yard TD making the score 14-10. Ohio State would then go on to outscore Penn State 20-3 on the way to a 20-13. Penn State had a chance to punch in but Ohio State stood with 5:13 to go. The Nittany Lions are now 7-1 and ranked No.6, as for the Buckeyes they took Penn State’s spot at 3 and are also 7-1.
