The rap album Well Dude Here’s My Thing by Dave Blunts might be the worst of the year, there are a couple contenders between artists like
Nettspend and Sematary. I dont get this album. Admittedly, I only heard of this album through
Instagram reels, and I was vibing with the first song. The Cup easily Blunts biggest song,
he performed it live at a juice world tribute, where he could not stand up and was on a couch on
an oxygen tank. The song is funny at moments, “Sippin on promethazine, with lean I fell in love.”
I wont deny Blunts because that is a bar, I think its funny but the fact the entire song is about this
topic and like filler bars is crazy. The music video is cute but kinda boring. Also the instruments
on this entire album sound like they were made in bandlab or like from some free rap beats
site. Its so repetitive and annoying.
Every single song on this album is explicit, and I hate the name of this record. It sounds like a
name Lil Tecca would make. I don’t get half of the references on the song “Mary’s on Second.” I
think the draw of that song is being explicit.
It seems like on this entire album Blunts is calling out random people? Like Abigail and
Madison and Hunter Thomas??? Dude it just is confusing and I don’t get it. It’s like a middle
schooler taking about all his “opps” or his enemies.
Dave Blunts has like 1 more of these releases and he’s done I think, there no way there’s a big
enough market for this.
