Eiafuawn is a project created by Clay Parton in 2005 when Duster took a brief hiatus. Duster
known for their “slowcore” sound has cemented their name in the music industry with their
classics like Inside Out and Me and the Birds. Birds In the Ground was released on
September 13th, in 2005 through static cult records on CD.
I can describe this album as trippy and hypnotic, the instrumentals on these songs hit you with
a nice groove. Its hard to get up and dance to this album in my opinion. Its mellow and
bittersweet. At times this album proves to be pretty existential, Birds in the Ground takes the
depressive artistic touch of Duster. Every song sounds like
Sometimes it can make you dance or can make you get lost in thought. The way Clay crafts
clever melodies on this project on his 4 track recorder is crazy. I think conceptually this album is
really vague,
We start this album with Bunny, now this song has some nice guitar progressions, a running
theme on this album comes from the instrumentals, I’m not the biggest fan of the start to this
album but the instrumentation is nice.
The second song is probably the biggest song on this album No More Like That. Its become a
popular track for people to use on their instagram and Tiktok posts. I like the song, its not bad
and offers a lot of substance. The riff is quirky, hypnotic the drumming is simple and makes the
guitar stand out clear.
All In all this album is overall pretty good, I like the vibe it brings. Not all the tracks are amazing.
Favorite tracks: Good God Yall, Two Thousand Twelve, No More Like That, The Drunk Pilot and
the Romantic Passenger.
