Butler has also agreed on a two-year, $111 million extension through the 2026-27 season. The Warriors will lose Andrew Wiggins, Dennis Schroder, Kyle Anderson and more.
It was a four way trade between the Warriors, Heat, Pistons and the Jazz. The Warriors will receive Jimmy Butler. The Heat will receive Andrew Wiggins, Kyle Anderson P.J. Tucker, and the Warriors’ 2025 first-round pick with top-10 protection, Utah Jazz receive Dennis Schröder. Detroit Pistons receive Lindy Waters III, Josh Richardson
The Warriors are Butler’s fifth team he has played for during his career. He was traded from the Chicago Bulls after not having a good relationship with head coach Fred Hoiberg. He was traded from the Minnesota Timberwolves after clashing with Karl-Anthony Towns and Andrew Wiggins. He went to Miami when the Philadelphia 76ers chose Tobias Harris over him. And more recently the Heat, in which he had multiple suspensions.
The Warriors have struggled this year with a record of 25-24. Trading for Butler, the Warriors hope he can help set a spark for the team.
