Nirvana is one of the biggest bands from the early 90s and they are still listened to to this day. They were one of the first grunge bands to make it big in music and one of the main reasons for this to happen was their second studio album Nevermind. Nevermind was released on September 24, 1991, and was produced by DGC Records. The album genres were grunge and alternative rock.
At the time Nirvana had three main band members. They had their lead singer and guitarist Kurt Cobain, bass guitarist Krist Novoselic, and drummer Dave Grohl. What makes Nirvana so great and different from other bands is Kurt Cobain. Kurt can sing chilling and low-pitched vocals on songs like Come As You Are and sing loud energetic vocals on songs like Territorial Pissings. Nirvana’s Nevermind is also filled with distorted electric guitars and uneasy lyrics that really get you hooked after just one song.
One song that I like is Something In The Way. At the beginning of the track the vocals and instruments are very quiet. When the song hits the chorus the song gets louder and brings lots of energy. Nirvana also uses a cello in this song that fits the energy so well. Another one of my favorite tracks is Smells Like Teen Spirit. This is Nirvana’s most popular song and lots of people’s favorite Nirvana song. The chorus in this song sounds very loud and angry. It is the first song of the album and it sets the tone for a great album. After I listen to this song I can’t get it out of my head. The only song on this album that I don’t care for is Endless, Nameless. It just drags on too long and the guitar riffs get repetitive.
I found this album to be very good and it stands the test of time. This album is very close to perfect, with only a few things that bring it lower than a 10/10. I recommend this album to anyone who enjoys that classic rock feel. I give this album a rating of 9.2/10. Favorite Tracks: Something In The Way, Smells Like Teen Spirit, Come As You Are
