Activists fighting for Palestine vandalized President Trump’s golf resort due to his proposal on emptying the Gaza strip of its Palestinian population. They did this by painting “Gaza Is Not For Sale”, along with red spray paint on the walls of the club house.
The activists in Scotland did this Saturday, March 8th, after hearing his proposal not too long before this. This particular golf course that was vandalized, Trump Turnberry, one of 10 courses on the rotation to host the British Open. The British Open is the oldest of the four major championships in men’s golf.
When the report was made early Saturday morning, the acts of vandalism were still ongoing. Although this was an inconvenience for them, they claim that this will not get in the middle of their business, which is referring to Trump calling for Gaza’s population to be relocated permanently so that way the US can start developing the territory after taking it
Trump’s proposal in itself caused major fear and frustration, especially for the Palestinians there, but the reason they are now retaliating is because they have declined and do not want to leave. These acts of activism were claimed to be criminal and childish by Trump Turnberry.
The group Palestine Action said it “rejects Donald Trump’s treatment of Gaza as though it were his property to dispose of as he likes.” “To make that clear, we have shown him that his own property is not safe from acts of resistance,” it said in a statement.
According to The Associated Press,“The future of Gaza is uncertain as the first phase of a ceasefire that paused the 15-month war between Israel and Hamas ended with no clarity on what would come next because the agreement’s second phase has not yet been hammered out.”
