Kaiju No. 8 is a Japanese anime inspired by the manga(Kaiju No. 8) . It is currently one season
long with 12 episodes and each episode is around 23 minutes. It was released on April 13th,
2024 and has a 10/10 rating on Rotten tomatoes and a 4.9 average rating on crunchyroll. The
story revolves around Kafka Hibino(Masaya Fukunishi who you may have heard as Akihiko
Sakamaki in Solo Leveling), a 32-year-old longing to join the Defense Force and make good on
his promise to a childhood friend, Mina Ashiro(Asami Seto who you might have heard as Shino
Madarame from Bleach Thousand-Year Blood War) . He befriends a new coworker Reno
Ichikawa(Wataru Kato who you might have heard as Kabru from Delicious in Dungeon), while
cleaning up Kaiju remains, whose determination to join the Defense Force inspires Kafka to
fulfill his childhood promise to pass the entrance exam and join Mina to protect humanity. When
a small Kaiju burrows itself inside Kafka, he gains superhuman strength and powers fit for
fighting Kaiju. He works to earn the trust of his human teammates, defeat increasingly powerful
Kaiju, and keep the world safe. It is directed by Shigeyuki Miya, Tomomi Kamiya, and the
screenwriter is Ichiro Okouchi. If you want to watch it you can find it on Fandango, Crunchyroll,
Funimation, etc. Overall I would have to give it a 8.5/10 because it is a really good anime but I
Just wish they would cut down on how overpowered the MC is when first getting his powers
because the “action” scenes aren’t long enough in my opinion.
