Kansas City, MO – A bullet was fired into Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid’s office last spring while he was present, according to a report from the Kansas City Star. The incident occurred in early May 2024 when Reid was alone in his office. The bullet, fired from outside, shattered the window and lodged in a wall between the bathroom and the entrance. Following the event, the team installed bulletproof glass.
Two additional bullets struck the facility—one hitting the third floor and another damaging an air-conditioning unit. Few within the organization were aware of the incident.
A Chiefs spokesperson declined to comment. This incident occurred shortly after Reid led the Chiefs to their third Super Bowl title in five years, and he holds a 273-146-1 coaching record, ranking fourth on the NFL’s all-time wins list.
