Authorities announced 16 people dead after a devastating explosion at a Tennessee explosives manufacturing plant on Friday. The blast left a wreck of twisted metal and burned-out vehicles at the plant, where they supplied and researched explosives for the military. The cause of the blast is yet to be determined, and is made more difficult considering the charred evidence that investigators have to comb through. At the time of the explosion, authorities are unaware with how many employees were working when the blast occured. The strength of the blast was felt miles away, with residents almost convinced that their own home was collapsing in on itself. Humphreys County Sheriff Chris Davis stated that authorities had narrowed down the number of workers missing to 16. Assumptions claim that there are no survivors.Davis said officials are now in the process of identifying the remains and are using cellphone data to determine whose devices were at the site at the time of the blast.
