OE Students Observe Chicken Processing
November 13, 2019
Students from Teacher Tracy Hoffman’s animal biology course and other students who had chickens went to Munsell’s Poultry Process in Fowlerville., Nov. 6th to get their chickens processed and judged. Students watched how to process a chicken and also how they are judged. The chickens are processed by washing and spraying out the chicken and then they are cleaned out from any bacteria or parasites then there are weighted for judging. After the judging process the students write a report. The price range is usually around $12-$15, but it mostly depends on the size. After they sell the chickens the students keep the money.
