OE Freshman Needs Your Help

OE+Freshman+Needs+Your+Help

Meet Justin Cole, a freshman at Ovid Elsie. He plays football, basketball, and is one of the most caring people you will ever meet. His most well known characteristic is his contagious smile, and it can brighten your day in just seconds. But, right now, Justin needs your help.

Justin was first diagnosed with Leukemia on Sept. 11th, 2016 and has been having treatment for over three and a half years. The countdown was approaching of how many days he had left for treatment, on Oct. 30th, it marked 92 days until he was finished with treatment which would have been on Jan. 31st, 2020.

Although, he has come across some bumps in the road. Recently, Justin wasn’t feeling the greatest and had some back pain. His mom, Kirsten Cole, then took him to the ER at 8:30 p.m and after running multiple test and they came to the conclusion that he had a relapse of Leukemia and needed a bone marrow transplant.

His family was the first to go to to see if one of his sisters was a match. Sadly, they were not. If you would like to donate you would have to be at least 18 and can’t be older than 44. You can register by going to https://bethematch.org. Instead of going to a drive, you can answer a few questions online, ordering a swap kit, get a match, and the final step is to donate. On the other hand, you may not be a match for Justin, it would be helpful if you could be tested to help others in general.
