The Ovid-Elsie Girls JV basketball team won against the Dansville Aggies in their first game, Tuesday, Feb. 9th. It was a slow first half with both teams only scoring nine points each. However, the Lady Marauders got a little more into the swing of things and put down 21 points in the last half, while only letting the Aggies score four points. The final score was 30-13.
The team worked together well considering the low number of players on the team and were determined to win their first game. Top scorers were Cari Martinez and Haylees Paulus each with six.
Coach Brandon Belill states, “The game was a little sloppy, but I’m glad we took the win. I think we have much to improve on and we will.”
The game on Thursday, Feb. 11th was cancelled due to COVID contact tracing at Lakeville. The next game takes place at Laingsburg, Feb. 17th.
