The Ovid-Elsie Varsity girls and boys track team had their first meet Friday, April 9th. The meet took place at Pewamo- Westphalia High School with field events starting at 4 p.m. and track events starting at 4:45. After talking with Varsity Girls Track Coach, Nicholas Hufnagel, he informed us that he was really excited for the first meet of the season. “I knew with it being our first meet some of the girls were going to be a little nervous, but I think that overall they did really well and I’m proud of how they did for their first meet this year,” Hufnagel said. Ovid- Elsie girls ended up taking 3rd overall for the track meet out of the six teams with 61.5 points and the Ovid- Elsie boys ended up taking 4th overall with 84 points. The next meet that was scheduled for both track teams was Monday, April 10th, but it was canceled as of Friday. The next meet they have as of now should be April 16th at St. Louis with field events starting at 4 p.m. and track events starting at 4:30 p.m.
