Tuesday, Apr. 27th, the Ovid-Elsie Girls Varsity Soccer team faced Durand High School in their first home game of the season, at 5:30 p.m. The team, once again performed very well, mercying Durand in the first half 9-0. Despite the other team being low on players, and playing with only seven, both teams stayed in good spirits. Scoring was fairly even this game, but a few players stuck out for their excellent assists. Madison Cunningham, Kalista Bancroft, and Hailee Campbell each assisted two goals. The girls played very well as a team and Coach Craig Thelen added, “Goals have seemingly come easy for us this season and that is a testament to those players who are unselfish and pass first.” This game was successful, and the team looks to rematch Byron high school Tuesday, Mar. 4th, this time on their home field.
