Varsity Girls Tennis Ends Season

Varsity+Girls+Tennis+Ends+Season

Thursday, May 20th, the Girls Varsity Tennis team traveled to Portland for Regionals. The eight teams that participated in the tournament along with Ovid-Elsie were, Portland, Chesaning, Mt. Morris, Durand, Lansing Cathothic, Lansing Christian, and Leslie. Playing time started at 9 a.m. and ended around 4:30 p.m.

Five out of the six Ovid-Elsie flights won their first round, which Coach Johnson reports is an improvement from years past. She states, “We have a lot of young players with potential and I think we will have a good team these next few years.”

No one continued onto the finals for the Marauders. Although they placed 5th overall, the girls had a lot of fun and good experience. The team will not continue on to states, meaning this was the last competition of the year.

Summer programs will be held if you are interested in playing next year.
