Red Notice, Unexpected Hit on Netflix

Faith Blacker, Staff writer

The American made movie Red Notice is one of many great movies that was released to Netflix last year on November 5th, 2021.  This movie became very popular, and became known to most people. It is rated PG-13, so it isn’t that kid friendly. However, most teens find it a comedic and enjoyable movie.

It starts off with a wanted art thief (Ryan Reynolds) trying to capture one of the three ancient artifacts known as Cleopatra’s eggs. The one he desires is in a museum in France but is heavily guarded. The thief manages to successfully take the egg and win the fight against the guards and the American cop (Dwayne Johnson). Eventually, the art thief is captured in a Russian prison and the Bishop (Gal Godot) frames the American cop for taking the egg. This leads to the art thief and the cop forming an alliance to clear the cops name and get back the eggs that were stolen. They make a plan and break out of confinement, to continue their adventure to get what they both want. They keep running into the bishop who tries to get the art thief to reveal where the 3rd egg is. He knows but refuses to tell her until he is betrayed by the cop who was really working with the bishop. At the end of the movie, the art thief is plotting for his revenge and makes all three of them work together.

This movie is directed by Rawson Marshall Thurber, and has multiple famous stars. (mentioned above) Even though it only scores a 36 percent on the Tomatometer, I still highly recommend this movie. It was packed with action, was very comedic and portrayed a villain’s point of view. This movie will probably always be one of my favorites.
