San Francisco 49ers star QB Jimmy Garappolo was carted off the field during Sunday’s game against the Miami Dolphins. Backup, Brock Purdy stepped in and carried the 49ers to a 33-17 win over the Miami Dolphins. The status of Garappolo’s injury is egregious. He suffered a broken foot after a three-man pile and will miss the rest of the season and possibly even sit some games next season. The 49ers were a Super Bowl contender team, but their star QB getting injured will tank the likeliness of the 49ers going to the super bowl this year.
