Beetlejuice Classic Also Good Live

Joe Knickerbocker and Alyze Ladiski, Staff writer

Beetlejuice follows a recently deceased couple battling against a new family who moved into their home with help from a malicious spirit. Tim Burton’s second film he’s directed and probably one of the best. Although the movie has some low points and can seem outdated, the film is undoubtedly a classic. The movie has a great cast of characters played by prominent actors like Michael Keaton, Alec Baldwin, and Winona Ryder. But Michael Keaton steals the show with his performance as Beetlejuice. No one could have played Beetlejuice as well as Keaton, he made the movie. He is such a joy to watch whenever he’s on screen. The story is goofy and its characters are exaggerated which adds so much charm to the movie. It’s not a perfect movie by any means but it’s a cult classic that is always a joy to watch. Alyse and I recently saw Beetlejuice at the Warton Center and enjoyed it very much. The film has a Rotten Tomatoes score of 85% and an audience score of 82%. Beetlejuice is a brilliantly bizarre movie that is one of Tim Burton’s best movies. We rate this movie an 8/10.
