Hannah Evans is a senior at Ovid-Elsie High School. She has been participating in the
drama department for a year and a half. She has played previous roles such as Patty Simcos in
Grease, and The Acrobat in Matilda, and is now playing the lead role as Anne Shirly in Anne of
Green Gables, to be performed Nov. 17th and18th. Here is what she had to say.
Are you excited to perform your current play?
? I am excited, Being in Anne of Green Gables is a different experience because
it’s my very first straight play whereas I have been used to playing in musicals.
So I’m definitely excited especially since I get to experience being the lead.
Do you connect with the character you are currently playing?
? Being Anne Shirly has definitely made me feel connected to her. She is seen as
very different then everyone else since she’s outgoing and doesn’t care what
everyone else thinks. She’s very comfortable with who she is and I find that
admirable.
How is the play coming along?
? I feel like it’s coming together very well. We are currently getting are set built and
were are coming up on being done with learning are lines.
How has this play been different from plays in the past that you’ve participated in?
? This play is very different for me since I’m the lead and have a lot more lines.
This is also the first play we’ve had in a while since we’ve done musicals the past
year that I’ve been involved in drama.
Why did you choose to join drama?
? I first joined drama because my friends were involved in it as well and I love
Mrs.Bashore even though I had gone out on a whim I’m glad I did and it has been
a really good experience for me.
