On March 30th, The Iowa Hawkeyes beat the Colorado Buffaloes 89-68.Iowa had a record of 32-4 and Colorado had a record of 24-10. According to NCAAW, this win advanced Iowa to the elite 8. Caitlin Clark played for 36 minutes of the game and had the most points of any player on both teams which was 29!
According to Sports News, in an interview with Caitlin Clark, she stated she’s been playing basketball since she was five years old. She competed in boys recreational leagues because she was so young that girls groups weren’t a thing at the time. By the end of Clark’s high school career she had a total of 2,547 points. The defining game to set off her basketball career was when she played in Mason City, Iowa, and scored 13 3-pointers out of the 17 she shot, that game she scored 60 points.
April 2nd Iowa played LSU who had a record of 31-5 which was one more loss than Iowa. Clark ended the game with 45 points and 12 assists they beat LSU 97-84 and were tied 45-45 at half. According to ESPN, Angel Reese, LSU’s best player, fouled out with 17 points. Which seems like nothing compared to Clarks 45 points. Clark has been a phenomenon in basketball, now she is carrying Iowa to the Final Four in the tournament.
