Solo Leveling is a Korean anime directed by Shunsuke Nakashige. It is one season long with 12
episodes, every episode being 23 minutes and 40 seconds long or a total of close to 5 hours. It
was released in Jan. 7th of 2024 and if you are interested in watching it you can watch it on
Fandango or Prime video. Solo Leveling is about a world where the human race has to deal with
these portals called gates that go to dungeons with monsters inside and if they aren’t dealt with
in a specific amount of time they will burst open and the monsters can go threw to earth. To
counteract this some humans were given different amounts of magical power being rated
anywhere between E class being the worst or S class being the best of the best. The story is
about a kid named Sung Jinwoo ( voiced by Aleks Le who you might know as Zenitsu from
Demon Slayer) who is known as the weakest hunter around the world with a rank of E for
magical power, which most E class hunters have a average of above 70 magical power but
Sung Jinwoo only has 10. But in urgent need of money to help his mother from a disease called
last rest he goes into the gates anyway to try and get the scraps for money. But one day going
into a D rank dungeon with a bunch of other hunters they come across a rare double dungeon
that ends up being a trap ranked at least A rank but most likely S rank. With “no other choice
because they have a family” everyone leaves with to die with no way to escape. But on the
verge of death a screen pops up in front of him saying he has completed a quest. Next thing he
knows he wakes up in a hospital fully healed and getting daily quests that give him immense
amounts of power being able to get the strength to be stronger than a S rank hunter. Solo
Leveling has been rated a 10/10 by Rotten Tomatoes and I would have to agree with all the hype
for it and rate it a 10/10 as well. Fun fact if you watch it in Korean the voice actor of Sung
Jinwoo Aleks Le actually strained his voice so much in a fight scene that he ended up coughing
up blood.
