The album portals by Melanie Martinez is one of the best albums in my opinion. The album came out in 2023, and it came out four years after her last one, so it was and still is very exciting for her fans. There are thirteen songs on this album, this album even has her most popular song on the album which is also the only one she has done all by herself, called Void.
My favorite songs from this album are Void, Womb, Light Shower, and Battle of the Larynx. I personally think all of the songs off of this album are very good, but these are just some of them that really stand out to me.
All of Melanie’s albums have a story, all of them tie together. The story is about a girl named Crybaby, and it just about her growing up. all of her songs all have hidden meanings within them. Her first album is called Crybaby and it is about her young self and has song names like Sippy Cup, cake, and Dollhouse, they all might sound like they are about dolls and kids stuff, but they are about problems like self-love, and family issues. her second album is k-12 which is about her school life. And lastly is Portals which is about her grownup self and how she has grown up and matured and just grown as a person in general.
