Judge Kevin R. Mullins age 54 of Kentucky was fatally shot last week allegedly by a sheriff. He was remembered on Sunday, Sept. 22nd, 2024 in the JenKin’s High School auditorium. Hundreds of people showed up to mourn the loss of Kevin. Those hundreds of people also included a procession of black-robed judges. Sheriff Shawn M. Stines was accused of shooting Mullins several times in the judge’s chambers on Thursday afternoon. Stines has been charged with murder and should be expected to have his first court date some time this week. The police are currently investigating the motive. The motive for the shooting happened after they argued.
There isn’t any information released yet about why they were having an argument. On Sunday the day of the funeral district judge J. Foster Cotthoff stood in front of a crowd of about 500 people and told them all about Mullins life as a judge and how he always worked tirelessly and was always putting in so much effort. In addition to being survived by his mom, he is also survived by his wife Kimberly, his daughters Mya and Ava, his sister, three nephews, and a niece.
