The movie Inside Out 2, is a new 1 hour and 36 minute movie that was released into theaters on June 14, 2024 in the U.S. It is rated PG and is a family friendly movie, it is an animated coming-of-age film. The movie is overall about the teenage mind, so it is more fitting for teenagers and older children but still is appropriate for the whole family including the younger children. It has also recently been released on different apps and movie streaming platforms. These platforms are Disney+, Amazon Prime, Youtube, Apple TV, and Google Play movies.
This movie is about a girl named Riley, it shows her emotions in her head and how she reacts to certain situations and what the emotions do. In the original movie, there were four emotions: Happiness, Anger, Sadness, and Disgust. In the new movie they introduced a new main emotion called Anxiety. They also introduced Embarrassment, Envy, Ennuie, and Nostalgia. The movie shows the emotions in the average teenage mind and the mental struggles. It is a great representation of this especially when the new emotions take over, such as anxiety, and replace the old ones leaving Riley with nothing but new weird feelings.
Kelsey Mann is the director of Inside out 2. Actors such as Maya Hawk, Amy Poehler, Liza Lapira, and more all play a part within this movie. This movie scores 90/100% on the Tomatometer, and I highly recommend watching it. It overall is a great movie and it really shows well how the mind of a teenager usually works. This movie really gives a good point and helps people to better understand the thoughts in the teenagers’ heads around them.
