As the 2024 election comes closer, the fight for key voters is getting stronger. One
important group is white women, who had a big impact in the last two elections. Former
President Donald Trump, leading the GOP, and Vice President Kamala Harris, the Democrat
candidate, are both working hard to win them over.
Trump, who had strong support from white women in 2016, is using the same strategy. He talks
about the economy, parents’ rights in schools, and border security. At a rally in Pennsylvania, he
spoke to suburban moms, blaming Biden for inflation, crime, and school problems. “Mothers
want safe neighborhoods and good schools,” Trump said. “They don’t want their kids to be
affected by woke ideas. That’s why we need to take the country back.”
On the other hand, Vice President Harris talks about inclusion, women’s rights, and healthcare.
At a stop in Michigan, she said it’s important to protect women’s rights, like access to abortion,
especially after the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade. “This is about freedom and justice,”
Harris said. “White women in America have a choice: Do you want a country that respects your
rights, or one that takes them away?”
Polls show white women are divided. In 2020, most white women voted for Trump, but Harris
and Biden got more support from younger and college-educated white women. This year, both
candidates are focusing on suburban moms, working-class women, and younger progressive
women.
Experts say the outcome may depend on the economy and social issues. Dr. Allison Thompson, a
political analyst, says Trump is focusing on suburban voters worried about crime and schools.
Harris is energizing women who care about rights and healthcare.
Both candidates will have events in important states with many white women voters, like
Arizona, Wisconsin, and Georgia. The result of this fight could decide who becomes president in
2025. Source
